Head of Department
Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of Faculty of Art and Design of Istanbul Kent University, has a department curriculum based on a comprehensive education approach both in practice and theory. In recent years, interest in the discipline of gastronomy has been increasing rapidly in our country and in the world. The fact that food consumption, which is the most basic physiological need, continues without interruption even in extraordinary situations such as the pandemic process, both explains the reason for this interest and shows that the need for qualified manpower in the sector will exist in any case.
The main purpose of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts department is to raise individuals, who will shape the future of the sector by knowing the changes that gastronomy has undergone throughout history, from classical gastronomy to innovative culinary trends, who know the basics of world cuisines, who know the method of professional kitchen practices and the physical and chemical changes that the nutrients undergo during cooking.
Our students, who will graduate with a vision from KENT and ready for international competition, will be able to work in senior positions in the public and private sector thanks to the education they receive and the internship opportunities provided, and they will be one of the leading representatives of the sector by establishing their own business with the entrepreneurial awareness they will gain in our school.
