Students who graduate from the E-Commerce and Marketing Associate Degree Program graduate with an Associate Degree.
Students who wish to be exempted from courses previously taken during their prior education, including through horizontal transfer, must submit their exemption requests along with official transcripts to the Vocational School. These applications are evaluated by the Vocational School Administrative Board, and exemption decisions are made by the board.
The language of instruction for the E-Commerce and Marketing Associate Degree Program is Turkish; however, students are required to take English-I and English-II courses during the first and second semesters.
Graduates can work in areas such as product management, customer relationship management, digital marketing, and sales analytics within e-commerce companies. They may also pursue careers in digital marketing agencies and companies specializing in social media management and content creation. Furthermore, they can work in the marketing departments of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large-scale corporations, particularly in the management of online sales channels and in digital transformation projects. Employment opportunities also exist in call centers, logistics companies, and customer support services. In this context, the program offers a wide range of career prospects aligned with today's digitalized business environment.
The majority of courses are delivered face-to-face, although some may be offered online
Students are required to attend all classes, practices, lab work, and exams or academic work deemed necessary by the course instructor. Students must attend at least 70% of theoretical classes and 80% of practical/lab courses in a semester. Those who fail to meet the attendance requirement are considered unsuccessful due to absenteeism. Students who have already fulfilled the attendance requirement for a course are not required to attend again if they retake the course (Istanbul Kent University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations)
The compulsory courses include subjects in e-commerce, marketing, economics, general business, statistics, information literacy, supply chain management, brand management, business mathematics, web design, cybersecurity, IT law, and artificial intelligence. The curriculum also includes entrepreneurship and project management courses, aiming to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for both traditional and digital business environments.
The program offers numerous elective courses in three categories: field-specific, cross-disciplinary, and university-wide electives. Field-specific electives focus on recent developments in digital commerce and provide students with practical competencies. Courses on sustainability, green economy, blockchain, and digital content creation help students adapt to the evolving structure of e-commerce.
There are two exams for each course: a midterm and a final exam. In some courses, different evaluation methods can be used instead of midterm exams. 40% of the midterm exam and 60% of the final exam affect the success grade. Students who cannot attend the midterm exams for justified and valid reasons must submit their excuses in writing to the Vocational School Directorate within the period specified in the academic calendar. Students whose excuse is approved by the Board of Directors can make up their midterm exams on the date to be determined. Students who cannot attend the final exam do not need to submit an excuse; these students can take the make-up exam directly. However, for students who do not attend the make-up exam, no excuse or make-up exam is held afterwards. The University prepares an updated academic calendar for each academic year, which is updated by the University for each academic year.
To graduate, students must successfully complete all courses in the curriculum, earn a total of 120 ECTS credits over four semesters, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00.
Graduates of the Associate Degree Program in E-Commerce and Marketing may apply to the following undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS): Economics and Finance, E-Commerce and Management, Public Relations and Advertising, Public Relations and Publicity, Communication, Communication Sciences, Business Administration, Logistics Management, Accounting and Financial Management, Marketing, Advertising Design and Communication, Advertising, Technology and Information Management, International Business Management, International Trade, International Trade and Finance, International Trade and Business, International Trade and Logistics, and Management Information Systems.
The curriculum of the Associate Degree Program in E-Commerce and Marketing has been carefully designed with exemption possibilities in mind. However, exemptions for courses completed during the associate degree are determined by the regulations and procedures in effect at the university where the student is placed following the DGS.
The Vocational School Directorate evaluates student needs and requests regarding the DGS. In previous terms, DGS preparatory courses have been organized within the university. Additionally, students have access to study areas within the library.
Courses in the Associate Degree Program in E-Commerce and Marketing are conducted at the University's Kağıthane Campus.

The university library is structured to include printed and online books, articles, papers, and similar academic resources for all courses. Within the E-Commerce and Marketing Associate Degree Program, there are no courses that require the mandatory purchase of supplementary materials apart from textbooks.
