Mission

The mission of the Department of Midwifery at Istanbul Kent University is to educate qualified and internationally competent midwives in accordance with national and international midwifery standards. Embracing a total quality management approach grounded in advances in science and technology, the Department focuses on protecting, promoting, and improving maternal, fetal, newborn, family, and community health by educating midwives who:

• Are equipped with evidence-based knowledge and skills,
• Adhere to professional ethical principles and respect human rights,
• Demonstrate critical thinking, research-oriented attitudes, and innovation,
• Can identify, plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare needs through a holistic approach,
• Can assume active roles within multidisciplinary healthcare teams,
• Can translate the knowledge they generate into contributions to society,
• Are environmentally conscious and respectful of diversity.

Through education, research, and community engagement activities, the Department aims to contribute to scientific advancement and the improvement of health.
