HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
The Political Science and Public Administration (Turkis/English) Undergraduate Program at Istanbul Kent University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the structure of political systems, the behavior of political actors, and the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policies from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The program offers an in-depth examination of the principal institutions and actors shaping governmental decision-making processes, including the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, as well as civil society organizations.
Through a curriculum comprising courses such as Political Structure and Political Life in Türkiye, Constitutional Law, Comparative Political Systems, History of Political Thought, International Relations, Political Theory, Public Administration and Public Policy, and Local Government, students acquire a solid theoretical foundation while developing advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
In addition to the core curriculum, students have the opportunity to broaden their academic horizons by selecting elective courses from the Faculty's interdisciplinary pool, covering various fields within the social sciences in accordance with their academic interests and career aspirations. Our distinguished academic staff, recognized for their national and international scholarly contributions, provide high-quality education at both undergraduate and graduate levels, ensuring an intellectually stimulating learning environment.
To prepare students for an increasingly competitive global landscape, the program places strong emphasis on the development of English language proficiency through compulsory foreign language courses embedded within the curriculum. Furthermore, through the Department's Erasmus+ partnerships, students have the opportunity to pursue part of their education at leading universities across Europe, thereby enriching their academic and intercultural experiences.
Shaping the Future Through Political Science and Public Administration
The Political Science and Public Administration (Turkish/English) Undergraduate Program at Istanbul Kent University is committed to delivering a rich, interdisciplinary educational experience.
